Corey Spiller, Beloved Father and Community Volunteer, Dies at 24
Bonham, Texas — Corey Spiller, a devoted father, loving son, and dedicated community member, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 24. Born on March 2, 2001, in Greenville, Texas, Corey was known for his warm spirit, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family.
Corey attended school in Dodd City through the tenth grade before relocating to Waller, Texas, where he graduated high school. He worked across several farms and ranches, including a custom harvest crew throughout the Midwest, before building a career as a truck driver, a role he took great pride in. He cherished the opportunity to work alongside his uncle J.R. and his grandfather Robert, strengthening family bonds through shared labor and values.
Above all, Corey was a dedicated father to his son, Kase McCrae Garner, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. His interests included golf, roping, music of all kinds, and history documentaries. A natural people-person, he enjoyed playing dominoes with friends and family and was an active member of the Bailey Volunteer Fire Department, demonstrating his commitment to serving his community.
Corey is survived by his son; his parents, David Spiller and Jodi Stephens; his girlfriend, Mady Mae Guidry; siblings, grandparents, extended family, and many friends. He was preceded in death by several beloved relatives.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Bonham on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with interment following at Philadelphia Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 5, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.
Though his life was cut tragically short, Corey Spiller’s legacy of love, service, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
